Gluten & Guilt Free, Adaptogenic Brownies



With so many food sensitivities, allergies, auto-immunity, fads, trends, whatever; being gluten free seems to be what everyone is doing these days.

Are we eliminating gluten from the diet and replacing it? What are we replacing it with?

These are some important questions we need to ask ourselves.

Why?

Because a lot of the times gluten is replaced with chemicals and artificial or highly processed ingredients.


The adaptogen in here (completely tasteless) is maca. This adaptogen helps to balance the adrenal glands which has a huge part in regulating stress, hormones, and improving libido (sex drive).


I've also added in some protein and collagen into this recipe. Not only does protein help repair muscle after a workout, it also helps balance blood sugar, amino acids (protein molecules at their smallest form) are the building blocks of our entire bodies. So whether you're healing the gut lining, strengthening your hair, skin and nails, growing, pretty much everyone can benefit from protein.


This recipe is completely grain free, full of protein, and helps regulate stress, how much better can life get?



Here's what you'll need:


- large can of black beans (540mL)

- 3 eggs

- 3 tbsp coconut oil

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 2/3 cup raw cane sugar

- 1/2 tsp baking powder

- 1/4 tsp pink himalayan salt

- 1 scoop cocoa caramel whey protein isolate by Perfect Sports (or chocolate protein powder of your choice)

- 1/4 cups maca + cacao powder by Organika (or just plain cacao powder)

- 3 tbsp enhanced collagen by Organika


Topping:

- cacao nibs (optional)


Directions:


- Preheat oven to 400F

- Mix wet ingredients in blender or food processor until smooth

- In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients

- Pour contents of the blender into the bowl of mixed dry ingredients

- Whisk everything in the bowl together evenly

- Lay parchment paper on a cookie sheet

- Pour mixture onto cookie sheet

- Sprinkle cacao nibs all over the batter on the cookie sheet

- Place in oven

- Bake for 20-30mins
