Hydrating Smoothie



I should probably be posting more recipes on the blog, no?


Ok, so this smoothie I can't take all the credit for; a friend and I created it together. We basically just threw a bunch of different fruits together and crossed our fingers hoping it would taste good.

TURNED OUT AMAZING

It's super fruity, hydrating, anti-inflammatory, full of antioxidants, but also naturally high in sugar.

So naturally the nutritionist in me wanted to balance out the sugar so it doesn't spike my blood sugar too much.

What did I do? Threw in some collagen!

Collagen is mostly advertised for hair, skin and nails. But its an amazing protein source as it's protein in it's smallest form called "amino acids". You're body doesn't need to break it down, which puts less work on the body's digestive system.

Protein actually helps to balance out blood sugar levels!

That being said...I need to bless you all with the recipe as well!



Hydrating smoothie recipe:

- banana

-raspberries

-pineapple

-juice of 1/2 of a lime

-1inch chunk of ginger

-pinch of cayenne

-1tbsp of collagen

-coconut water


Can definitely work as a mixer as well!
